One step closer to IFPR – the FCA publishes its second consultation paper on the new regime for investment firms

The new regime for Investment Firms in the UK is a result of the EU’s work on crafting a more proportional supervisory framework for investment firms, resulting in the new IFD/IFR regime that went live in June 2021. Prior to Brexit, the UK was one of the key drivers of the new regime for Investment Firms, and the IFPR regime in the UK is based on the same principles: covering investment firms with more proportional and tailored supervision.

In addition to the consultation paper (a quite thorough read of 369 pages), the FCA has also published the proposed forms for MIFIDPRU 8 disclosure templates.
