Driving ESG data reporting with ATOME Matter
Press Release: ESG data-driven with BR-AG's ATOME Matter
BR-AG a finalist of the G20 2021 TechSprint
For the second consecutive year, BR-AG has made it to the finals of the G20 TechSprint, this year organised by the Banca d’Italia. This year, the focus was on three problem statements, each one aiming to address the problem of climate change and how the financial sector contributes to it. With BR-AG’s ATOME Matter platform, the team approached tackling the problem statement of data collection, verification and sharing of ESG data.Â
Tapping into the problem of data inconsistency in sustainability reporting, the BR-AG team developed a concept to provide a technology link to collaboratively develop and manage sustainability data requirements and facilitate the design of risk analysis scenarios by developing Project Sunrise: ATOME for Environmental Data.
ESG is now at the hearts and minds of financial markets and regulators alike, with the transition towards a “green economy” accelerating, fuelled by the drive to achieve a zero-net economy in 2030. With the green transition at the core, Banca d’Italia and the BIS Innovation Hub hosted this year’s G20 TechSprint. As such, Italy laid out the priority for sustainable finance spanning the 2021 G20 presidency term. In the drive for climate change, some 89 teams from more than 25 countries submitted 99 solutions aiming to address three problem statements.
