CIPC’s First Digital Sustainability Reporting in Africa: A Business Case for Innovation
South Africa’s Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC) has become the first authority in Africa and the world to integrate the S1/S2 taxonomy into its taxonomy framework, which has been operational since 2018.
BR-AG played a crucial role by providing technical assistance in integrating this module into the electronic disclosure system (eServices), enabling companies to voluntarily disclose ESG data. This pioneering initiative enhances transparency and sets a new standard for reporting practices, highlighting South Africa’s commitment to global sustainability best practices.
